KAR-KUNDALI · HASTA SAMUDRIKA × JYOTISH
Palmistry was born inside Vedic astrology.
Only when Heaven and Earth meet is a reading complete.
Palmistry (Hasta Samudrika) is not a separate fortune-telling art. It grew from the same root as Jyotish (Vedic astrology): the science of reading the signs of the stars where they appear on the body. Heaven is read in the birth chart; Earth is read in your two hands. The same nine planets leave the same marks in the sky and in your palms — so a reading from stars alone, or hands alone, is only half a body. Laid over one another in a single report, they show what blueprint you were born carrying, where you stand today, and where you should be heading.
- Birth data + 2 photos of your hands → a personal PDF of about 30 pages
- Your own palm photos, labelled with the positions of planets, lines and auspicious marks
- The direction you should take, stated plainly from the gap between blueprint (chart) and present position (hands)
- Delivered within 24 hours · 6 languages
- No fear-mongering topics such as health or lifespan
An astrology of the hand, born in India three thousand years ago
Hasta Samudrika Shastra — the source of palmistry
Most of the world’s palmistry traces its source to India. Indian palmistry was never an independent “palm reading”: it was born from the same root as Jyotish, as the science of reading the signs of the stars as they appear on the body. The classical Samudrika Shastra assigns the mounts, lines and marks of the palm to the nine planets (Navagraha) and reads the hand as a “horoscope you carry with you”. That is why palmistry and the birth chart were never two separate arts, but one system reading the same nine planets in Heaven and on Earth.
Why it has to be both
A reading from the birth chart alone tells you the blueprint you were handed at birth — but not how much of it you are actually living. A reading from the hands alone shows your present position — but has no yardstick to judge whether that position is your true ground or a detour. Only when Heaven and Earth are compared can we read whether your hands have already received what the stars promised, which doors are still unopened, and which way you should turn. Kar-Kundali builds that complete form into one report from your photos and birth data.
| Type of reading | What it shows | What it cannot show |
|---|---|---|
| Horoscope / birth chart only | The blueprint you were given; timing (dasha) | How much of the blueprint you are living. Where you stand now |
| Palm only (apps, general palmistry) | Tendencies shown by the present shape of the hand (mostly generic) | Whether it is your true ground or a detour. When to move. Whose blueprint to compare it to |
| Kar-Kundali (Heaven × Earth) | Where blueprint and present agree or differ, sleeping doors, the direction to take, the months to move | Health, lifespan, pregnancy, accidents (deliberately excluded) |
Nine planets on your hand
| Part of the hand | Planet | Governs |
|---|---|---|
| Mount below the index finger | Jupiter (Guru) | Wisdom, guidance, faith, the bond with teachers |
| Mount below the middle finger | Saturn (Shani) | Duty, patience, what is earned over time |
| Mount below the ring finger | Sun (Surya) | Honour, self-expression, the place where you shine |
| Mount below the little finger | Mercury (Budha) | Words, trade, quick wit |
| Base of the thumb | Venus (Shukra) | Love, beauty, the capacity to receive joy |
| Lower palm, little-finger side | Moon (Chandra) | Heart, imagination, the maternal |
| Centre, thumb side and little-finger side | Mars (Mangala) | Courage, fighting spirit, the power to protect |
| Hollow in the centre of the palm | Rahu | Craving, the pull of the unknown, what you chase in this world |
| Near the wrist lines | Ketu | What is carried over from the past; letting go and release |
The premise of this science: a planet strong in the birth chart leaves a mark in the same place on the hand. Where they agree, “the hand has already received what the stars promised.” Where they differ, “there is a gift not yet received.”
Left and right — two times, three karmas
The non-dominant hand shows what you were born with (innate); the dominant hand shows what you have cultivated in this life (acquired). Indian philosophy speaks of karma in three layers.
The birth chart is the script the soul received; the non-dominant hand is a copy of that script; the dominant hand is the stage you are performing on today. This report reads all three side by side.
Auspicious marks (Lakshana) — sacred signs hidden in the hand
What sets Indian palmistry decisively apart is that it reads marks, not just lines: the fish (Matsya), conch (Shankha), lotus (Padma), trident (Trishula), wheel (Chakra), flag (Dhvaja), temple (Mandir)… In the classics, when the shape of a deity’s emblem appears on the hand, that deity’s protection is said to be present. Which marks are on your hands, and which planet or nakshatra deity in your chart they resonate with — this is the most thrilling chapter.
Your report (9 chapters + appendix · about 30 pages)
Every chapter is written individually from your birth chart and your palm photos. Not generic text reworded: it says “this is who you are”, names the stars and the parts of the hand that prove it, and tells you when, what and how to act on it.
- The soul’s blueprint — your birth chart and your storyRashi chart, the Moon’s nakshatra and its deity, the Atmakaraka (the planet your soul most wants to learn from in this life), the current mahadasha. What challenges and gifts you were born carrying, told as one story.
- The planet map on your handYour two palm photos with the lines, mounts and marks we read overlaid as numbered labels, with a legend. Your brightest planet and your quietly sleeping planet at a glance.
- Heaven and Earth compared — what the stars promised, what the hand receivedPlanet by planet, the strength in your chart is set against the state of the same mount on your hand and sorted into gifts already received and gifts still unopened. Latent versus expressed, read from the left–right difference, is here too.
- Given blueprint and present position — the direction the gap points toThe chart is the blueprint you were given; the hand is where you stand now. We name the qualities strong in the chart but still faint on the hand (sleeping doors) and those grown on the hand though modest in the chart (doors you opened yourself), then state in one sentence: “the direction you should take is —”. Three concrete moves, when to start, and the changes that should appear on your hand as you go.
- Sacred signs — the marks on your handThe auspicious marks found (or shapes close to them) illustrated, with their classical meaning, the deity they correspond to and the chart placement they echo. If no mark is found, forming crossings and characteristic lines are read by the same method.
- Three karmas — what you carried, what you are performing, what you are making nowNon-dominant hand, dasha and dominant hand side by side: how you have performed the stars’ script, and where you have rewritten it. Where past turning points (age timing on the lines) coincide with dasha changes, we show them as evidence.
- Bonds, work, decisions — readings on three stagesMade concrete on three stages: bonds with people (Venus, Moon, 7th house), work and honour (Sun, Saturn, 10th house), decisions and words (Mercury, Jupiter, Mars).
- The next 12 months — when the planets tap your handAll twelve months, each with a headline written for you, where that month’s sky touches your chart, the area that moves, and what to do. Turning-point months are stated plainly — “this is the month to move” — and tailwind months and careful months are named. Every hard stretch comes with what is waiting beyond it.
- Hands change — an invitation to follow-upThe birth chart never changes; your hands change with your Kriyamana karma. We specify which planetary areas to watch when you re-photograph in 3–6 months, and the follow-up reading compares the two to see whether your choices have begun to be written into your hands.
- Birth-time rectification (if your birth time is unknown or uncertain)The ages of past turning points read from the lines are matched against dasha changes to narrow down candidate birth times. Candidates, not a definitive answer.
Sample reading — a fictional client, “A”
A fictional example for illustration. The hand images are AI-generated samples. Your report is written individually from your own chart and photos.
The planet map on your hand
The planet shining brightest on A’s hands: Jupiter. In the chart too, Jupiter sits in the 9th house (teachers, faith, distant places), and the Moon’s nakshatra is Purva Phalguni, whose deity is Bhaga, god of contracts and delight. “The joy of giving something to others” is written in both the sky and the hands.
Labels show the positions read in the consultation; they are not measurements.
Heaven and Earth compared
A (38, third year of Jupiter dasha)
| Planet | Promise in the chart | Non-dominant hand (carried) | Dominant hand (now) | Reading |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jupiter | 9th house, strong. A life as one who guides | High Jupiter mount, clear vertical line | Vertical line faint — but a new line on the Sun mount | The gift has been received, but it began to show as “being recognised” before “teaching”. A gift still largely unopened |
| Saturn | 10th house. A name earned through duty | Fate line runs straight from the wrist | Breaks once in the middle, resumes from the outside | The trace of a career switched by her own hand in her early thirties — where the Sanchita script was rewritten by Kriyamana |
| Rahu | 5th house. A craving for creation and expression | Shallow central hollow | Deep hollow with fine lines gathering | In this life she came to crave “her own expression”. Rahu is the planet of craving; this awoke after birth |
| Ketu | 11th house. Release from the group | A small triangle above the wrist lines | Same place, slightly clearer | A carried-over task of “leaving the herd”, already about half let go |
Given blueprint and present position — the direction to take
- Blueprint (chart): Jupiter in the 9th, Sun in the 10th — a design where “guiding people becomes your honour”.
- Present position (dominant hand): the fate line is thick and the foundation set, but the Sun line is still thin and the vertical line on the Jupiter mount faint. Long on the “supporting” side; the “stepping forward to lead” side not yet used.
- Sleeping door: the Sun line. Door opened by yourself: Mercury, modest in the chart, is clear on the mount below the little finger — a power of words you grew on your own.
Sacred signs
Found: a shape close to a fish mark (Matsya) below the ring finger (Sun mount). In the classics the fish is Vishnu’s first incarnation, a symbol of abundance and of “the one who rescues”. On the Sun mount it is said to show honour arriving in the form of helping others.
In A’s chart the Sun sits in the 10th house under Jupiter’s aspect — “standing before people becomes guiding someone”. The fish on the hand and the Jupiter–Sun resonance in the sky say the same thing twice.
Three karmas
- What you carried (Sanchita): a straight fate line and a high Jupiter mount on the non-dominant hand. A script of “walking a set path as one who guides”.
- The order you were to perform (Prarabdha): Saturn/Rahu sub-period at 32, midway through Saturn dasha (ages 22–41) — a placement where “departure from others’ expectations” occurs.
- The stage actually performed (Kriyamana): the fate line on the dominant hand breaks at the early-thirties position and resumes from the outside. Line timing 31–33 — matches the stars’ script. Here A changed course by her own will, and her hand recorded it.
- And now: Rahu’s hollow deepens, a new line on the Sun mount. Beyond the rewritten path, the planets of expression and honour are starting to move.
The next 12 months — every month gets a headline and an action (3 months excerpted)
- Nov 2026 “The month to put your foundation into words” Saturn passes over your natal Sun in the 10th house. The area that moves: how your work is judged. Put the career foundation you rebuilt into writing for your boss or clients. Not a tailwind — a month for setting things in order.
- Jan 2027 “This is the month to move” Rahu touches your natal Moon and Mercury (9th house) while the Jupiter/Mercury period is running. If you are asked to speak, write or teach — accept. The fish mark on your hand starts working for the first time as “helping people through honour”. One step this month thickens your Sun line.
- Jul 2027 “Saturn-return month” Saturn comes home to its natal seat. Venus moves, and the event that closes the “inside/outside gap” your two heart lines showed arrives. Careful, but do not retreat. What awaits beyond this: the relationship you kept at a distance becomes lighter than before.
In the actual report all 12 months receive a headline, where that month’s sky touches your birth chart, the area of life that moves and a concrete action — with turning-point months, tailwind months and cautious months named separately.
Follow-up — the difference after 6 months
- Line on the Sun mount: “just emerging” last time → now one clear line. The fish outline is sharper too. → The result of taking a speaking role in the Jupiter/Mercury period.
- End of the heart line: extended slightly toward the index finger. → Venus’s task has begun to move.
- Fate line: unchanged. → The foundation is set. The next move comes in the Saturn period of 2028.

FAQ
- Q. How is this different from a palm-reading app?
- An app returns generic text from a single photo. This report compares your birth chart and both hands in the language of the same nine planets, and writes the gap between blueprint and present, the direction to take, the three layers of karma, the auspicious marks and the dasha timing as one story. As far as we know, no other report integrates palm and birth chart in one volume written this individually. And you can follow the changes by re-photographing.
- Q. What if the palm and the chart say different things?
- That is the heart of this reading. The chart is the blueprint you were given; the hand is where you stand now. A difference is not a flaw: it is read as power not yet used up, or a door you opened yourself, and from it we derive the direction to take (Chapter 4).
- Q. What if I have no auspicious marks?
- Value is not decided by marks. Forming crossings and characteristic lines are read by the same method, together with their resonance with your chart.
- Q. I don’t know my birth time.
- Order with date and place of birth only. The appendix narrows down candidates from line timing and past turning points.
- Q. Why both hands?
- The non-dominant hand shows what you carried; the dominant hand shows what you are performing now. One hand cannot show the three layers of karma.
- Q. Will it say bad things?
- Health and lifespan are not covered. Hard periods always come with the reason and with what is waiting beyond them.
- Q. How long are photos kept?
- Originals are deleted automatically after 30 days. Only analysis data and low-resolution comparison images are kept.
